Artists are just children who refuse to put down their crayons -Al Hirschfeld
As a small child growing up in South Florida, Susan was gifted with a creative eye and was always drawn to color, pattern and texture. She obtained a B.S. degree in Medical Technology. After college Susan married and relocated with her husband to Northern Virginia just outside of Washington D.C.
As a life-long creative and a stay-at-home mom, Susan was determined to incorporate art and creativity into her daily life. She established Animated Artworks, a home-based calligraphy and illustration business that became her creative outlet for many years. When her daughters were older and in school Susan reentered the workforce and was employed as a graphic artist and publications specialist for a consulting company in Bethesda, MD.
After returning to Florida, Susan and her husband were drawn to the art-rich community of Sarasota as a retirement location. They love the city and all that it has to offer and Susan has found a creative home through classes, creating art in her home studio, participating in juried exhibits and creative opportunities through volunteer activities. Susan's return to Florida has proven to be the perfect environment for her to immerse herself in the creative process and follow her passion.
